Shakhtar Social- Annual Report 2018/2019
This report covers Shakhtar Social’s activities during the 2018/19 season (from July 1st, 2018 through June 30th, 2019). The publication is structured to reflect all significant projects chronologically.
Shakhtar Social is a foundation established by FC Shakhtar with a purpose to implement the club’s social responsibility policy. The foundation’s major activities are centred around health, education, gender equality, social inclusion and charitable work.
In the Annual Report (2018/2019), Shakhtar Social highlights its involvement in the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks. The campaign which enables the European football community to tell fans about their CSR programmes, supported by the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), the UEFA Foundation for Children and the European Club Association (ECA).
Shakhtar Social and the club actively promoted its “Come On, Let’s Play!” programme during the 2019 #Morethanfootball Action Weeks, with 160 kids from 8 different teams taking part equipped with football kits and t-shirts with the Morethanfootball logo. The “Come On, Let’s Play!” programme has been promoting football, social inclusion and values throughout Ukraine since it was launched, back in 2013. The aim of the winning project is to improve the social inclusion of children living close to the frontline, refugees and socially disadvantaged children. In total, 240 children disabilities participate in the football and educational sessions in 6 of the 28 different locations.
Shakhtar Social is also part of the EFDN’s Scoring for Health programme, in partnership with the UEFA Foundation for children. Scoring for Health encourages children from the ages of 7 to 13, and their parents, to adopt a healthy lifestyle and make them aware of the value of eating healthily and being active.
