Project details
Vitesse Werkt!
Vitesse Works (Dutch: Vitesse Werkt!) is a youth employability programme for young people that receive social welfare. Vitesse started this programme in November 2015 in collaboration with the Municipality of Arnhem, UWV and Visie op Arbeid. The aim of the project is to prepare the participants for the ultimate goal: a paid job.
The participants train twice a week during the six-month football programme. The training takes place under supervision of a Vitesse Betrokken Coach. During the football sessions, participants learn how to work in teams and also learn important aspects of making appointments, acceptance of values and self-reflection. After the football session, the participants also participate in a additional session where they work on their employment skills. The focus of this session is on writing a CV, apply for a job application, building a social network, attitudes of colleagues and creating a realistic self-image. In addition, participants will be made aware of their strong skills and what they would like to learn.
