The power of sport to overcome P.T.S.D.

headbutting-ptsd-among-childrenPost-Traumatic stress symptoms are a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. Some people who developed symptoms of post-trauma heal on their own. However, many continue to have symptoms for a long time. Sports’, including football, is a platform for constructing a process of empowerment. Through this the individual learns to deal with complex situations, which are tools also used to deal with post-traumatic symptoms.

Project steps:

1. Mifalot will send 3 coaches to train local adults and young leaders in a program using Mifalot’s “On the Field” methods. This program combines educational and sport content adapted to meet the children affected by PTSD.

2. The adults will then be trained coaches who will be able to impart what they learned on groups of kids. Then together, we will run tournaments and activities for the locals in disaster areas.

3. Mifalot will also leave equipment and educational material for further implementation of the program by the locals.

Content material offered:

1. A four-month training program based on Mifalot’s “On the Field” with emphasis on dealing with PTSD.

2. Access to all of Mifalot’s educational training programs.

3. Whistle, captain patch, red yellow and green card

4. Jerseys, balls and discs.
