‘Shakhtar Talent Day’ programme – Shakhtar Social Foundation
‘Shakhtar Talent Day’ programme is aimed to popularize grassroots football in Ukraine and give a chance for the kids to get into FC Shakhtar Academy. The programme is active since June 2018 and open trials were conducted already in 6 cities of Ukraine – Kharkiv, L’viv, Mariupol, Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhia and Ivano-Frankivsk. The total amount of players involved – 600 kids. The scouts of FC Shakhtar Academy visit each location to watch the games of the kids. As the result, around 60 players were invited for the final trials at FC Shakhtar Academy. In July 2018, according to the results of Mariupol-based selection, Maksym Derkach from Chornomorsk was admitted to the Academy before becoming the Champion of Ukraine with Shakhtar U14 last season, currently playing for the U15 team.
