PSV FITfans
In 2017, the PSV Foundation has launched in cooperation with medical partner St. Anna TopSupport, a new health programme called PSV FITfans. The programme is targeted at people, who would like to actively improve their health condition under medical supervision.
The programme PSV FITfans
FITfans is a 12-week programme for PSV supporters aged 18+ focused on improving their lifestyle. The focus of the programme is set on the elements of physical activity, nutrition and relaxation.
By means of consultation, advise and training sessions, taking place in the Philips Stadion and given by professionals of the PSV Foundation and St. Anna TopSupport, the FITfans participants will work on improving their health and lifestyle.
The aim of the programme PSV FITfans
In the Netherlands, the percentage of people being overweight is still growing. According to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, in 2001 44% of the Dutch population were overweight. This number has risen until the year 2016 to a percentage of 59.1.
The increase has a strong effect on the society and economy. The PSV Foundation and St. Anna TopSupport are aware of this issue and take it seriously. The PSV FITfans programme shall contribute to stimulating a more healthy lifestyle.
Topsupporters
To some extent, the programme is based on the project Topsupporters, which the PSV Foundation delivered jointly with St. Anna TopSupport during the season 2016/2017.
TopSupport helped people with a medical record to train for running the distance of the DLL Marathon in Eindhoven. The programme showed positive results regarding the health conditions of the participants.
