Old Firm Alliance Programme

The Old Firm Alliance Programme is delivered jointly by highly qualified Celtic and Rangers coaches and provides opportunities for school children, youths and adults to take part in regular structured physical activity, healthy lifestyle workshops, coach mentoring programmes and work experience.

A programme for children in primary 4 and young people aged 12 plus

The programme focuses on 2 key groups – children in primary 4 and young people aged 12 plus.  The courses address health and safety issues and use the profile of both clubs to promote positive choices around equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as general health and fitness.

Through the programme, children and families from some of Glasgow’s most disadvantaged areas and schools can engage with both clubs, access education in healthy lifestyle choices and take part in regular physical activity in a safe and tolerant environment.

The programme, which has been carefully audited and evaluated annually, confirms the power of the ‘Old Firm’ to jointly make a strong impact on a range of issues.  This is why, ten years on, the project is still making a huge difference in our communities.

We are grateful to Glasgow City Council for their funding support for this programme.old_firm_alliance
