Hibernian FC – Tesco Bank Football Challenge

The Tesco Bank Football Challenge is a programme designed to encourage Primary 2 and Primary 3 children to become more active and develop an interest in football.

Created in 2014 in partnership with the Scottish Football Association and Tesco Bank, Hibernian Community Foundation organise and deliver 6 weeks of curriculum football within local primary schools each year.

This is followed by unique football festivals and events to celebrate the programme with other participating schools. Edinburgh schools are also given the opportunity  to represent the region at the national festival on the pitch at Hampden Park.

The programme also offers the potential for the Foundation to deliver Tesco Bank CPD events for teachers and volunteers in schools.

In 2017, the Hibernian Community Foundation achieved some remarkable results:

  • More than 650 boys and girls playing football.
  • 13 primary schools participating.
  • 180 hours of delivery.
  • 2 Football Festivals.
  • Established School to Club link.
