FanActiv

Fulham FC Foundation have a vast health offer, providing targeted interventions in line with local need. The ‘European Legends’ Walking Football programme increases social connections and activity levels amongst adults aged 50+, while ‘Health Champions’ provides primary aged children with the knowledge needed to make healthy lifestyle choices. New in 2016, the ‘Mind United FC’ programme reinforces the benefits of physical activity for adults with mental health needs, while enabling participants to represent FFCF in tournaments across London. Perhaps most notably is fanActiv, which tackles the issue of physical inactivity across the UK.

fanActiv transforms rivalries between football fans into healthy competition to engage men in physical interventions, community challenges, and health messaging . It’s the ultimate clash of football fans in London as they represent their clubs in a series of physical activities and, through the use of bespoke digital technology, track their progress, win points for their team and challenge their rivals to keep up.

Delivered under the umbrella of London United – the charitable arms and trusts of London’s professional football clubs – fanActiv uses the EAST methodology (Easy, Attractive, Social, Timely) to encourage social change. With partners such as the NHS, Fitbit UK, Public Health England, Kingston University, and GB Boxing, fanActiv brings Londoners together by getting them moving.
