Falkirk FC Foundation – The Falkirk Work Academy

The Falkirk Football Community Foundation provides a comprehensive suite of soft and technical skills-based activities designed to get people engaged and ready for work, delivered by their experienced staff in the environment of a professional football club.

Client groups involved to date include disengaged school pupils, unemployed youths, long-term unemployed adults, lone parents, visually impaired/blind adults, and students with learning disabilities.

WE INSPIRE PEOPLE TO MAKE LIFE CHANGES
We have been delivering Employability programmes successfully for several years aimed at inspiring people who have experienced a setback to make changes to their own lives, to raise aspirations and ambitions and open their minds to new possibilities. Our framework is called the Falkirk Work Academy. It can be adapted to suit partner requirements and provides a real client-centered approach with progressions aligned to the National Employability Pipeline.

WE PROVIDE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Our unique proposition offers a collaboration of employability and core skill development with practical training room or pitch-based activities, work placements and access to the unique assets of a professional football club. We are uniquely placed to offer participants a motivational and enjoyable experience no matter what their current circumstances are and everything we do is geared towards sustainable outcomes for all of our “signings

WE WORK WITH PARTICIPANTS
Our Development through Sport model sees course participants sign a “contract” with us; walk up the tunnel; receive regular football-based life skills drills on the pitch; wear official club kit; walk in the same corridors as club professionals; and attend their course in the modern and inspiring Falkirk Stadium.

WE HELP PARTICIPANTS GET A JOB
We help people understand the importance of a professional-looking CV, online presence and personal appearance and how to apply for jobs, prepare for interviews and give themselves the best opportunity to secure sustained employment, whilst building confidence, self-esteem, routine, engagement, health and well-being and skills for employment.

We can also provide quality and relevant work experience with Falkirk Foundation, Falkirk FC, or with a range of local partner organizations

WE HELP PARTICIPANTS GAIN QUALIFICATIONS

As an approved SQA delivery and assessment center, we offer a suite of SCQF qualifications up to and including level 4, encompassing the nationally recognised Falkirk Employability Award.
