Charlton Athletic – Family learning
Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) runs free family learning sessions at The Valley before Charlton Athletic home league games to equip adults with the skills and knowledge to support their child’s education.
The sessions held at Valley Central Youth Hub are aimed at parents and carers of primary school children, and cater for up to 10 families at once.
They are hoped to engage parents and carers with their child’s learning, improve relationships and help them to better manage their behaviour.Workshops include numeracy, reading with your children and phonics.Parents and carers will also be given take-home booklets full of resources, worksheets and links to games, videos and quizzes to do with their children. The scheme sees CACT work with primary schools across South East London, particularly in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
