Aston Villa Foundation – Disability Football
With the ethos that football and sport should be enjoyed by everyone, the club has a very strong disability football programme.
Aston Villa offers opportunities for participation in the Birmingham Ability Counts League. We currently run three separate teams covering different age categories: U13s U16s and an open age team that plays at Premiership level with all squads currently at full capacity due to high demand. Training takes place on Friday evenings at the Academy Building at Villa Park.
Ability Counts League:
U13s – 2014/15 saw success in the friendly league. With no official rankings, the team were very strong. 2012/13 cup winners and league runners up, 2011/12 cup runners up and league winners.
U16s – The team finished runners up in the 2014/15 season after a very competitive year. 2012/13 undefeated throughout the campaign and runners-up in the cup, 2011/12 cup and league double winners.
Adults – The 2014/15 season saw the adult side come 4th overall, mirroring the success of the past few seasons.
There are 35 teams in the Birmingham Ability Counts League across the 3 leagues, with 10 teams in the new Open Age Premiership which were added in the 2013/14 season. For more information contact Nigel Macrow on 0121 326 1552.
