Aris Limassol FC Social, Environmental, and Health Initiatives
Aris Limassol FC joins the European Football for Development Network (EFDN) to strengthen its efforts in using football as a tool for positive change. The club is deeply committed to sustainability initiatives, community support, and assisting those in need. Through EFDN membership, Aris Limassol FC aims to collaborate with other European clubs, share ideas, and enhance its initiatives focused on environmental and social support.
In the past year, Aris Limassol FC organised three community cleanup events in partnership with City Friends Club, including a joint cleanup with Real Betis Balompié during a Europa League match. These events gathered over 360 participants, including players, club staff, academy members, fans, and partners. Together, they collected 400 bags of general waste, 121 bags of PMD, and 350 kg of bulky waste.
As the only club in Cyprus offering a specialised football programme for children with autism, Aris Limassol FC provides weekly football lessons tailored to children with unique needs. Additionally, the club has initiated football academies in rural Cypriot villages, enabling access to sports facilities for youth in underserved areas. Over 80 children receive free football lessons in the village of Kalavasos, with plans to expand to nearby villages like Pissouri (54 children) and Agros (56 children).
Staying true to its mission of supporting vulnerable populations, the owners of Aris Limassol FC established the Aris Social Care Foundation in December 2022, under the leadership of Dr. Nikos Zamboglou. Operating under the Aris Union and the German Oncology Center, the foundation provides essential social care and support services to patients across Cyprus, both during and after their medical treatment.
Through EFDN membership, Aris Limassol FC hopes to deepen its commitment to social impact, environmental initiatives, and community-driven programmes, alongside like-minded clubs across Europe.
