Young AFCCT volunteer wins Aberdeenshire Award!

20160707_AFCCTKIDS_005._rdax_80Congratulations to Callum Brunton who has won the Aberdeenshire Youth Volunteer Award for contribution to Health and Wellbeing. Callum was nominated by his head teacher for this after learning of his volunteering with AFCCT.

Callum is an invaluable member of the AFCCT team, dedicating over 495 hours of his time to volunteering. In his 18 months with AFCCT Callum has completed his 1.1 and 1.2 early touches as well as his Dementia Friends Training.

Callum volunteers at Football Centres during school term-time and Junior Matchday Club during Aberdeen FC games days. He also spends his holidays helping at Soccer School as well as various holiday camps, health walks and Technogym.

Most recently Callum was part of a group of young volunteers who visited Nijmegen in the Netherlands to participate in the Community Champions League Youth Exchange. Callum’s parents said, “We are incredibly proud of Callum and what he has achieved during his time with AFCCT, he has gained so much more confidence and is turning into a brilliant young man!”

Well Done Callum!
