Werder Youngstars in Bremerhaven on the ball
Since exactly one year WERDER BEWEGT – LEBENSLANG has been involved in the nationwide Network “Welcome to football” four young refugees. On the occasion of the anniversary, the 3rd. SPIELRAUM Friends Cup took place on Saturday at WerderSports with an integrative and inclusive participant field.
In addition to the representatives of the German Children’s and Youth Foundation as well as the Bundesliga Foundation, friends and supports from all over Bremen came together to ensure that the refugees in Bremen had Low-threshold and diverse access to sport.
Among other things, there were broad sport clubs, which have launched special offers for refugees, the Landessportbund, which improves the participation of refugees in sport, or the representatives of the leisure football Wilde League and Uni-League, who integrate the refugees into their game operations without any bureaucracy. A total of twelve teams played for the victory at the 3. SPIELRAUM friends’ cup. In the end, the team of the SG Aumund-Vegesackwon the Tournament. The referees, who are all participants in special sports offers for fugitives and contenders on the referee’s license, saw ambitious and fair games.
Finally, all the teams were honoured for their work with refugees by the CEO of Werder Bremen, President Dr. Hubertus Hess-Grunewald and Marc Millies of REFUGIO, the cooperation partner of Werderbewegt -Lebenslang.
