AEK FC , KAA Gent Foundation, Apollon Limassol FC, Sheffield United Football Club, SV Werder Bremen, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Everton Football Club, FC Emmen, Big Hearts Community Trust and Newcastle United Foundation currently implement the project that aims to promote the social inclusion of young refugees. The Welcome through Football programme is funded by UEFA Foundation for Children and the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

Its methodology fosters the social inclusion and employability of young newly arrived immigrants and refugees. Therefore, our activities are promoting the quality of youth work, the intercultural dialogue and strengthen knowledge and acceptance of diversity in society. Moreover, the project assists football coaches and youth workers in the development and sharing of effective methods in reaching out to the marginalised target group, in preventing racism and intolerance. It achieves that through its three-step process: socialisation to sports, socialaisation in sports and socialisaton through sports.
