Welcome Through Football project at AZC Emmen concluded in a festive way

The 12-week football project at the AZC in Emmen ended successfully. 25 young asylum seekers participated in the football project in which they got acquainted with the Dutch society and FC Emmen. Also during the last session, the training came first. Then, there was a festive closing in the recreation room. Every participant signed their certificate in the presence of the coach and FC Emmen mascot SIBI. Everyone also received their own football.

The Welcome Through Football programme is a collaborative initiative of several European clubs including SL Benfica, Everton FC and Werder Bremen. The goal is to introduce children to the values of FC Emmen and Dutch society by using football training. Values such as respect and discipline are discussed while having fun and establishing connections.

Welcome Through Football is a programme organised by EFDN and supported by UEFA Foundation for Children. A new delivery phase of the project in Emmen will start in April 2021.
