Watch: FC Emmen disability footballers return to training
FC Emmen and its foundation Naoberschap United have joined forces to set up a G-voetbal (disability football) team. Players like Sven (16) have signed contracts with the club last year.
Due to the pandemic, Sven and his teammates could not meet for training and matches for a long time. Sven missed the training sessions and meeting his teammates. Luckily, the club and its foundation developed a concept that is in line with the governmental rules for outdoor sports and the G-voetbal team could already return to training.
“When my told me the training sessions had started again, I was really happy. It’s so great that I can play football again. I’m so proud that I play for FC Emmen”, said Sven.
Michael Chacon, FC Emmen player, joined one of the first training sessions and said: “I just played football with Sven, his laughing is just so fanatic. It’s wonderful that FC Emmen managed to get these kids training again.”
