Walking Football Sessions Begin

Everton in the Community and Everton favourite Pat Van Den Hauwe have teamed up with Tranmere Rovers to launch free walking football sessions in Prenton.

The Club’s official charity and Van Den Hauwe will be delivering the weekly sessions at Tranmere Rovers’ Recreation Centre as part of EitC’s Active Blues programme from Friday 8 July.

Running from 3pm-4pm every Friday for men aged 35-50, the walking football sessions are for those who want to keep fit, have fun, learn new skills and socialise at the same time.

League Championship and European Cup Winners’ Cup winner Van Den Hauwe will be in attendance at the sessions giving players the opportunity to try out their new skills alongside an Everton legend.

Walking football is a non-contact sport with one main difference to standard football; no running! As the name suggests, anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free kick awarded to the other team.
