Vitesse Betrokken starts new programme – Vitesse FIT
On 16th of November, the Vitesse Foundation kicked-off their new health and well-being programme ‘Vitesse FIT’.
The programme ‘Vitesse FIT’ is based on the research study ‘EuroFIT’, which was conducted by the VU Medisch Centrum Amsterdam in cooperation with various professional football clubs.
Due to the positive results of the study, Vitesse Betrokken and the health insurance VGZ decided to set-up the programme ‘Vitesse FIT’, which will now be delivered for the next three years by the club. It is targeted at members of the Business Club Vitesse-GelreDome.
Vitesse Fit has been developed for women and men being 30 to 65 years old, who have a BMI that is higher than 27. During the 12-week course, Vitesse will support the participants in the process of adapting of a more healthy lifestyle. Learning about nutrition and becoming physical active are the two essential components of the programme. In order to address both subjects sufficiently, all participants will take part in sport sessions and workshops that will deal with healthy eating and physical activity.
The strength of this programme is the unique team dynamic. In a positive and joyful environment, the participants have the opportunity to work together towards a common goal in the form of a more healthy, conscious and active lifestyle.
During the past two years, Vitesse Betrokken had offered a similar programme called ‘Vitesse EuroFIT’ to male supporters of the club. Overall, 80 persons took part in the project. Together, they lost 252,7 kilos within 12 weeks and lost 259,7 cm waist circumference.
Vitesse is the first club in the Netherlands, which is offering the programme for men and women.
