Toulouse Football Coeur and Petits Frères des Pauvres during December
A look back at the actions carried out by Toulouse Football Coeur and Petits Frères des Pauvres during this month of December dedicated to the fight against the precariousness and isolation of the elderly. A feeling unfortunately exacerbated in this period of end of year festivities that we wanted to brighten up.
Distribution of food parcels
The club’s professional players as well as the female players evolving in D2 went to visit the elderly supported by Les Petits Frères des Pauvres at their home in order to give them their food parcels and some gifts from the Toulouse Football Club shop. These encounters are a sign of solidarity and mutual aid, and help break the isolation and create a social link that is essential for personal development.
Ageism awareness workshop
Ageism is an under-recognised and under-appreciated cause, which includes all forms of discrimination, segregation and contempt based on age. In order to fight against these preconceived ideas, the Petits Frères des Pauvres association came to the Stadium to give two awareness-raising workshops to the employees and the U15 girls.
This was an opportunity for everyone to learn and exchange information through quizzes and fun videos that break down prejudices about age.
Transgenerational meeting
On the occasion of the preparation of the Christmas meal, several seniors came to the Stadium to decorate the menus for the meal on 24/12 accompanied by children from the Toulouse Football Club association.
Our U9 boys and U13 girls came to lend a hand to the elders and enjoyed a precious moment of exchange between generations.
Christmas meal
The festive season is often a difficult time for isolated people, which is why Petits Frères des Pauvres and the Toulouse Football Coeur have joined forces to offer those most in need a real festive meal on 24 December at the Stadium for 170 people.
During this event, Mr Alves, municipal councillor in charge of disability, community life and social centres, came to present his wishes and to express his support for this joint action.
As a surprise, the club’s four professional goalkeepers came to share a moment of conviviality before the start of the meal, much to the delight of the guests.
This was followed by a wonderful meal accompanied by music, dancing and good humour.
Kick-off TFC x AJACCIO
To close the collaboration and start the year 2023 in the best way, the seniors were invited to the victorious match of 01/01 TFC x ACA. Jeannine DUCROZE, who was 83 years old that day, had the opportunity to give the fictitious kick-off of this match accompanied by Florian GARNAVOT, volunteer with Petits Frères des Pauvres.
