Tottenham provides employment opportunities with Jobs Fair
The Club kicked off its community engagement in Brent by holding a Jobs Fair for local people at Wembley Stadium last week, as employers offered live roles and training opportunities to 800 jobseekers in attendance.
We will play all our home matches at the national stadium during the 2017-18 season and we are committed to delivering a range of award-winning community outreach programmes in the locality, the likes of which have been changing lives across North-East London for over a decade.
The Jobs Fair, the first one ever held at Wembley Stadium, featured major employers such as Hilton Hotels, Costa and Nando’s as well as a number of organisations from the construction industry. The day proved an enormous success with several people offered jobs on the spot by the Club’s construction partners alone and hundreds of interviews set up in total.
Showcasing foundation’s employability programmes
The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation also showcased its employability programmes, including volunteering in catering kiosks at the stadium on matchdays and a Construction Academy run in partnership with major property developer, Quintain.
Nikki Kelly, Head of Programmes and Operations Manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “Following the success of our previous Employment and Skills schemes which have seen over 1,000 new jobs in Tottenham linked to the Club’s ongoing stadium regeneration scheme, it’s fantastic for us to be delivering this work in Brent.
“The event has been an enormous success and this is the first of many community outreach and employment initiatives we have planned in this area over the coming season.”
