Winners of the Fradi Fair-Play Award presented by Ferencvarosi TC
Leandro de Almeida and László Bázsa-Mosó received the Fradi Fair-Play Award 2020 from Ferencvarosi TC. Although not the usual way in the form of a gala, FTC is happy to present the winners of the Fradi Fair-Play Award, which was established in 2017.
In the category of the True Green-White Hero, an athlete of Ferencváros is awarded, who has shown great sportsmanship during the year. This year, the recently retired football icon, Leandro de Almeida received the award.
In the category of the Fradi Heart, FTC awards a private person, company, or organisation that has been active in a social cause related to FTC. This year, the programme director of H52 Youth Office and Community Square, an active participant of the Fradi SuLiga (Community Champions League), László Bázsa-Mosó is awarded.
Leandro de Almeida deserves the recognition due to handing over his gold medal won last season to Ferencvarosi’s third goalkeeper, Gergő Szécsi, who – as he did not play in a league game – did not officially receive the medal.
László Bázsa-Mosó is the programme manager of the H52 Youth Office and Community Square, who mentors and involves disadvantaged children in our programme called Fradi SuLiga. The aim of the programme is for young people aged 10-12 to become valuable members of their local community.
The Fradi SuLiga is the Community Champions League of Ferencvárosi TC. The Community Champions League is an EFDN project in partnership with nine community-engaged football clubs from the Netherlands, England, Scotland, Norway, Portugal, Hungary, Belgium and Germany. NAC Breda, Feyenoord, Aberdeen FC, Chelsea FC, Club Brugge, SV Werder Bremen, Vålerenga Fotball, Ferencvarosi TC and SL Benfica deliver the Pan-European programme in collaboration with EFDN.
It is a social street football competition organised locally in nine cities in eight different European countries, where the participating teams can win more points through Fair-Play, Fair Support and Volunteering in community activities than by winning their street football matches. With the aim of promoting social integration through sport, the Community Champions League provides the opportunity for people from different cultures to come together to build relationships and friendships while breaking down barriers through the prevention of violence, racism and intolerance in grassroots sports and their communities.
