The Paris Saint-Germain Foundation match, held in honour of disability inclusion

As is now the tradition, the final match of 2022 at the Parc des Princes will be dedicated to the beneficiaries of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation, with Paris Saint-Germain hosting RC Strasbourg Alsace on Wednesday 28 December in a game that will promote disability inclusion.

Foundation youngsters take centre stage

More than 200 young children supported by the Foundation have been invited to the match, including around 100 with disabilities, who will spend the evening at the Carré VIP area. Some of the youngsters will have the opportunity to walk out on to the pitch with the players, take part in the honorary kick-off, or play the role of “little reporter”. In keeping with the festive spirit, the evening will end with gifts being handed out by the pine tree in the Carré Lounge.

Before the match, and in two firsts for the event, 18 young girls from the Allez les Filles (“Go Girls”) programme will hold a centre-circle banner bearing a message from the Foundation, while 25 children from the Red and Blue Schools. During the game, 25 young people from the Aurore programme will roll out a Foundation tifo with the aid of the Paris Ultras Group (CUP).

Raising awareness of disability issues

The focal point of the disability month that the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation is organising this December, the match will also provide an opportunity to raise awareness of inclusion among all fans.

With that goal in mind, videos on disability issues will be shown before the match and at half-time on the stadium’s big screens and in the hospitality lounges, along with excerpts from the documentary Onze de Légende (“The Legendary XI”), which follows the exploits of a team made up of young autistic players and players from Clamart Football Club as they prepare for a match against Paris Saint-Germain’s U-9s team. Two children from the Legendary XI will be invited on to the set of the TV programme Kick-Off when it goes out live before the match and will answer questions from the presenter Ambre et David.

Last but not least, collectors’ cups will be on sale at the Parc des Princes’ refreshment stalls, with proceeds going to the Foundation’s initiatives in support of people with disabilities.
