The Football School of Mareo declared a “Smoke Free Space”

Real Sporting joins the initiative promoted by the AECC and the Foundation, on World No Tobacco Day

Starting May 31, coinciding with the commemoration of World No Tobacco Day, the Mareo Football School has been declared a ‘Smoke Free Space’. With this initiative, the Club, through the Fundación Real Sporting de Gijón – Marea Rojiblanca, and with the support of the Spanish Association Against Cancer of Asturias, takes a step forward to create a healthy and sustainable environment in which boys and girls and young football players of the entity can train and carry out their sports activities in a smoke-free place.

Through this action, a pioneer at the national level, it seeks to avoid the normalization of tobacco consumption in the Rojiblancas facilities, promote an air free of harmful substances and create the best training environment for our players of all football categories of the Club.

This initiative, which already adds up to almost 300 spaces freed from tobacco smoke and 2.5 million people whose exposure to it has been reduced, will also make it possible to meet one of the sustainable development goals set by the UN and the 2030 Agenda: the promotion of healthy habits and social well-being.
