The Dance Palace comes to keep the elderly people active at Almere City FC’s business lounge
On May 3rd, Het Danspaleis (The Dance Palace) came to Almere for the first time and took place in Almere City FC‘s Sharp Business Lounge at the Competitieweg.
The Dance Palace is a meeting place for older people to get and stay active. It is a low-threshold initiative to enjoy music with peers in a fun place. Music from the youth can open doors and get elderly people who have not danced for years back on the dance floor. Through an extensive music archive, all ages and cultural backgrounds are catered for. In addition, special requests can be made so that there is a song for everyone on this swinging afternoon.
”The Dance Palace is offered by a number of business club members and it’s a great way to activate the networks of the elderly and show our appreciation to the elderly in the area. Our ambition as a club is to be a booster of vitality in the city from young to old, which is where this initiative fits in perfectly. Together with De Schoor, VMCA, De Nieuwe bibliotheek, Stichting Eigenwijze Company and the Salvation Army location Bosshardt Almere Buiten, we are putting our shoulders to the wheel to give these people a fun evening and to make a difference together”.
