The Alcoraz Foundation’s Child Protection Programme: Beyond a Declaration of Intent
The Alcoraz Foundation is deeply committed to upholding the rights of children and adolescents and to promoting a more just and protective society.
This season, the Foundation has taken a significant step by approving its Policy for the Protection of Minors, which outlines a comprehensive set of measures aimed at safeguarding children. As part of this initiative, the Foundation has provided various training sessions for coaches, assistants, delegates, and youth players. Additionally, the Foundation has established a series of protocols and codes of conduct for all individuals working with minors within the structure of the Barça organisation, making it one of the pioneering football clubs to implement such a programme.
This child protection system is a reflection of the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to respecting the rights of young people and contributing to a safer society. To ensure transparency and accessibility, the Foundation has created an open webpage that houses all the documents and protocols related to the programme.
The Alcoraz Foundation’s child protection programme, named Acullir, is designed to align with the Organic Law on the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents against Violence (LOPIVI). This law addresses all forms of violence across different stages, with a strong focus on prevention and education. The legislation highlights the importance of specialised and continuous training for professionals who regularly interact with minors, ensuring they are equipped to prevent and respond to instances of violence.
