TFC WINS THE PHILIPPE SÉGUIN TROPHIES 2020-2021

On Thursday, June 10, the Fondaction du Football announced the winners of the Philippe Séguin Trophies, an award recognizing clubs’ commitment to society. Our member Toulouse Football Club is very honoured to be the winner of this season’s award for its 11+1 programme.

11+1: a year dedicated to solidarity rewarded

Launched last October, the 11+1 label aims to structure and intensify the club’s social commitment through its Foundation. In concrete terms, each month, the club defines:

• 1 cause to support
• 1 ambassador player,
• 1 solidarity product for sale,
• 1 local association to benefit,
• 1 event at the Stadium during a match.

Throughout the season, TFC Foundation has supported several causes and projects, including the fight against breast cancer, the improvement of hospital conditions for children at Purpan Hospital (Toulouse), blood donation, help for people in need during the second lockdown, and help for Toulouse students facing food insecurity.

11+1 will have contributed to the well-being of 50,000 people in Toulouse.

The Fondaction du Football

Created in 2008, the Fondaction du Football is an important player to link football and CSR in France. The main mission of the Fondaction du Football is to interact with national authorities (FFF, LFP) in order to develop a social vision of football, to remind the educational virtues and to encourage societal innovation. Through the Philippe Séguin Trophies, Fondaction rewards the most active amateur and professional clubs in the field of CSR.

After 2010 (for its solidarity program “Let’s play together”), TFC wins the trophy in the “Professional Clubs” category for the second time in its history.

An award for the entire TFC community

The name “11+1” is a symbolic name that promotes inclusion: the number 11 refers to the unity of a football team, while the +1 symbolizes the solidarity of the TFC community and all the players who contribute to the values of the sport.

During this season, the TFC community (employees, players, association, training center, supporters, partners, institutions) has mobilised its forces to participate in 11+1 events.

An award to be presented at the Stadium at the beginning of next season

An official presentation of the trophy will be organised with the Fondaction du Football at the Stadium before a league match at the beginning of next season.
