TACBIS – Project Meeting in Breda at Rat Verlegh Stadion
Finally, the TACBIS project partners were able to meet each other again in person at the Rat Verlegh Stadion in Breda, the Netherlands. TACBIS is a pan-European project composed of 7 project partners, Colour Blind Awareness, Portugal FA, Romania FA, Randers FC, Iceland FA and Oxford Brookes University including the European Football for Development Network. The aim of the project is to make the sport more inclusive for people with a colour vision deficiency.
Colour blindness or Colour Vision Deficiency (CVD) as it is technically called, is one of the world’s most common inherited conditions, affecting an estimated 300+ million people worldwide. 1 in every 12 males and 1 in every 200 females are impacted by the condition. To address and raise awareness of this issue, the “Tackling Colour Blindness In Sport (TACBIS)” programme was created.
This meeting was the opportunity to talk about the project and the Colour-Blind Awareness Day 2021 that took place on the 6th of September 2021. As you may know, each year, the 6th of September aims to raise awareness about this topic and to highlight issues related to kit clashes for example.
After the evaluation of CBA Day 2021, the project partners brainstormed on the new ideas that could be included in the CBA Days 2022 that will happen on Tuesday, 6th September 2022.
To know more about the topic, we invite you to visit the website of TACBIS where you can find multiple resources and content regarding this project. We invite you to contact us if you have any questions or if you want to be part of this team as supporting partners.
