SV WERDER BREMEN PRESENTS SDG METHOD MANUAL AT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Bringing the sustainability development goals into the classrooms of elementary school is the aim of the new method manual on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which SV Werder Bremen has developed in cooperation with the Senate Chancellery of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and the project “Eine Welt in der Schule”/Grundschulverband e.V. The three parties presented the method manual on Monday afternoon in the Rablinghausen elementary school.

Titled “17 Goals – We for a better world”, Tarek Brauer, member of Werder’s management team, presented the handbook alongside State Councillor Dr. Olaf Joachim in the Rablinghausen elementary school. In order to connect the children with the 17 sustainability goals in a playful way, the new method manual contains sports exercises by SV Werder that are explicitly geared to the goals. “Education through Movement” is an integral part of the learning concept and is intended to convey the topic to the primary school pupils in a playful manner with a large portion of fun.

Five stations invite the pupils to engage with the core points of the Agenda 2030 for global sustainable development through sport and content, and to discuss and reflect on their own living environment. The history of the Bremen City Musicians is the unifying element of the stations and will be continued before and during the games.

This is just one example of the club’s social responsibility activities and shows why Bremen is an important participant of the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks.
