SV Werder Bremen continues its support for Ukraine
International support for the affected Ukrainians is still urgently needed. SV Werder Bremen since start of the Russian invasion on Ukraine, has been supporting those the most affected.
The German football club has been drawing attention to the war and encouraging donations for Ukraine via LED advertising banners on every home match day. The football club has not only partnered with Common Goal for a good cause but has also collaborated with SOS Children’s Village to support the people of Ukraine through joint fundraising efforts. Additionally, Werder’s managing director and the entire management team are donating 1% of their salary to the global movement.
Overall, SV Werder Bremen is making significant efforts to contribute to the relief and support of the Ukrainian people during this challenging time.
#FootballForPeace
Back in 2022, to support the ones who needed the most help, EFDN came up with #FootballForPeace truck which delivered all kinds of donations collected by European Football clubs to ‘Shelter Centre’ in the stadium located in the city centre of Lviv.
As part of this shipment, more than five tons of goods from six countries: Portugal, Poland, England, Scotland, Germany, and Belgium have been transported to the Lviv Arena. The humanitarian cargo includes food, medicines, clothes, baby food, sleeping bags, blankets, and hygiene items.
EFDN together with Shakhtar Social and Legia Foundation (Warsaw) launched an appeal for humanitarian aid in support of Ukraine and its inhabitants. The donations were initially collected by or shipped to EFDN and via the Legia Warsaw hub and transferred to the Shelter Center in Lviv, Ukraine.
