Stichting Samen RKC and WINRS Organise Stadium Run to Fight Cancer
On Saturday 17 June 2023, the second edition of the ‘You’ll Never RUN Alone’ will take place in and around the Mandemakers Stadium. A running event in which the charity KWF Cancer Control is central.
The stadium run was created by Stichting Samen RKC and WINRS Therapie & Training as a tribute to a former client of WINRS. He passed away from cancer at just 46 years old. After last year’s successful first edition, the event will now be continued, with the aim of raising as much money as possible for KWF.
Buddy
This year’s run is set up slightly differently than the previous edition. The ‘buddy run’ was created with the idea that no one can do anything alone. All distances are covered in pairs, with a so-called ‘buddy’. One is cycling and the other is running. Is the rider tired? Then you can switch. This is how both participants reach the finish!
Distances
The different distances are: 1940 meters, 13.8 kilometers, 23 kilometers and the special Route 46, a distance of 46 kilometers in honor of the WINRS client who passed away at the age of 46. At all these distances, the participants receive a unique running shirt, which they can wear during the run. In between, the participants are provided with food and a snack and afterwards they receive their well-deserved medal.
