Steven Gerrard Foundation donates £5,000 via the Rangers Charity Foundation
The Steven Gerrard Foundation has donated £5,000 through the Rangers Charity Foundation to support local collaborative food service.
The sum donated by the former player’s foundation was collected by the Supporter of Each Other Rangers Charity Foundation, which will then transfer the money to the Govan Youth Information Project (GYIP).
The GYIP, working together with local partners, will use the donation to support food initiatives to ensure that the young people of the local community will still have daily access to food during this uncertain time.
“We’re delighted to be able to link up with The Steven Gerrard Foundation by helping to identify a local cause in Glasgow which will benefit from this most welcome donation,” stated Rangers Charity Foundation Director, Connal Cochrane.
“We pride ourselves on being a good neighbour and have worked closely with GYIP in the past to develop and deliver impactful opportunities for young people during the school holidays. Earlier this season, we also supported our local foodbank with a significant donation, enabling them to be there for individuals and families who need support most.”
Steven Gerrard said: “So pleased we are able to give our support from the foundation at this time. Food banks and food services offer a lifeline to so many, so if we can all do our bit to help where we can it will make a big difference. Stay safe and stay home everyone!”
