Sphero’s STEM based learning gains pace among the football community
Educational tools have been given a brand new face with Sphero’s ingenious programmable robot system that transforms the way kids learn, create and invent through STEM based learning tools.
With the aid of hands-on football-based coding activities, Sphero Sports delivers a creative method of learning to code via STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) – sometimes STEAM with Arts included – concepts. It engages kids through technical learning without prior knowledge of computer science and facilitates the development of soft skills.
Most recently, Everton in the Community implemented a test programme for students of the West Lancashire College’s Science Summer School.
It will also be launched by the Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust as part of the club’s STEM Football and Education Programme.
Apart from the above UK clubs, It has also been implemented by Sunderland’s Foundation of Light and Aston Villa Foundation.
Dutch Eredivisie club Feyenoord Rotterdam, with the support of EFDN, also had a STEM clinic from Sphero Sports delivered recently at the finals of the Street Soccer League.
EFDN’s STEM Football and Education Programme will be launched together with our eight project partners (Legia, Ludogorets, Feyenoord, PSV, Greenock Morton, Aberdeen FC, Shakhtar and Newcastle United FC) in six different countries and is projected to be delivered from September 2021 to November 2021.
