Show Racism the Red Card partner joins the #Diversitywins Week
The Oxford Bulls, a football team for children with Down’s Syndrome, debuted in a viral video four years ago. Today, the hardworking team continues to encourage inclusivity in sports. The team from Derry in Northern Ireland was hosted by Show Racism the Red Card ally Buncrana Hearts for a challenge match on Sat 9th October.
On Saturday afternoon to the strains of The Undertones “Teenage Kicks” the inspirational Oxford Bulls ran onto the newly laid pitch in Castle Park and for the next forty minutes or so treated those lucky to be there to some of best entertainment ever witnessed on the top pitch. The club would like to thank Kevin & his coaching staff, the buddies, parents and of course the “BULLS” for a wonderful occasion and they can’t wait to next year when they will play once more for the Perpetual Crana Super Cup. The club gave a big shout out to the boys who played for Buncrana Hearts: they were fantastic and made a huge contribution to the day’s entertainment. The day turned out to be a truly amazing occasion one which the club hopes to make an annual event. This amazing anti discrimination event will hopefully inspire many clubs to also join the fight against discrimination and raise awareness for the FARE #FootballPeople weeks.
