Shakthar Social’s Come on, let’s play project: Training with a celebrity

Ukrainian actor and TV presenter Volodymyr Ostapchuk held a session for participants in the Shakhtar Social project.

On June 28, the Ukrainian football club held a training session for the Come On, Let’s Play! project kids involving 30 boys and girls in Kyiv. There were two age groups present: younger ones (7-9 years old) and older ones (10-12). However, the football session was special because the children were joined by a real Ukrainian TV star, actor and showman Volodymyr Ostapchuk. He participated in the younger group’s training session by talking with the children and playing football with them.

“I always experience great emotions while playing with kids. The Come On, Let’s Play! social project of FC Shakhtar is a really cool initiative, and I’m delighted to join it! Children, especially IDPs, are experiencing great stress now, while football is a thing that unites them and gives them joy. It’s great that even during the war, Shakhtar opens playgrounds and conducts training sessions for children. This is an important message: despite the fact that a full-scale war goes on in the country, we know that sport will win, that Ukrainian culture will win. The whole world should know that our victory is near!”

The Come On, Let’s Play! project is being implemented by the Shakhtar Social foundation with the support of its general partner DTEK for three years now. The project involves children aged 7 to 17. In May, training resumed in Kyiv and Brovary Brovary (Kyiv region).
