Shakhtar Social: Ivan Petryak Donated Aid to the Malyatko School
The Shakhtar player and the foundation brought equipment for the shelter at Malyatko School.
Shakhtar football player Ivan Petryak and Shakhtar Social visited the Malyatko special school in Kyiv, where children with speech and developmental disabilities study. The player and the Foundation’s employees donated aid to the school: soft beanbag chairs, a projector, thermal mats, board games and books. These items are needed to equip a protective shelter at the school so that children can stay safe and continue their education during air raids. Ivan Petryak also talked to students, parents, and teachers.
“It is always a pleasure to help children. Especially now, when our country is at war, it is very important to support kids even with some gifts. When you see them smiling and happy, you realize that it is worth it. But today, the safety of children comes first. I know this situation from my own experience, as I have two small children and have often been in a bomb shelter myself in recent months. It has become an integral part of our lives, so this help from the club is extremely important. Now the children will feel much more comfortable in the shelter. On behalf of FC Shakhtar and the team, we are helping and doing everything we can. There are a lot of children in Ukraine who have suffered from the war, so we do not stop and try to support as many people as possible.”

This event was implemented thanks to a grant received by Shakhtar Social as part of the ECA Relief Program with the support of the UEFA Foundation for Children. In total, more than 20 educational institutions, primarily in eastern and southern Ukraine, will be assisted in arranging bomb shelters.
