Shakhtar Donetsk’s Come on, Let’s play! programme: season’s finals
On May 13-14, Schaslyve, a village of Boryspil Raion, Kiev Oblast that borders Kiev city, will host great season’s finals as part of the grassroots football programme Come on, Let’s play! delivered by FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
Throughout the year, children aged from 7 to 12 years from Donetsk, Makiivka, Lviv, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove and Severodonetsk have been training and participated in various tournaments. Now, the top teams from each city will vie for the top prize in two age categories.
In the U10 group, Sportresurs (Lviv), Strela (Kramatorsk), Donbas (Donetsk) and Pobeda (Kurakhove) will take part.
On the competition’s opening day, the teams will hold head-to-head meetings. The group stage games will take place on May 13 from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00, with a third-spot decider and finals scheduled for May 14 at 13:00.
Group U12 comprises the sides as follows: Proryv (Severodonetsk), Kvadrat (Lviv), Black Star and Adrenalin (both – Kramatorsk).
Game in this age group will be held on May 13 from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00, with the finals kicking off at 13:30 on Sunday, May 14.
Be way of reminder, the grassroots football project Come on, Let’s play! was launched in 2013 in Donetsk. Since it got underway, they have already expanded its geography from two to six cities in Ukraine. For five years, the total number of children involved in the project has reached 2,180. On the pitches of Come on, Let’s play! project, they conduct 90 training sessions weekly.
