SECOND EDITION HERACLES G-SPORTS DAY: “THIS IS PURE, THIS IS GREAT!”
Successful Second Edition
The second edition of the Heracles G-sportday took place recently. A project in which the disabled community is given the chance to call itself a real Heracles Almelo footballer for an afternoon. Whereas last year the project had a successful first edition with more than 40 participants, now more than 60 were present. Accompanied by the Heracles Almelo selection, they played sports in the stadium for an afternoon. It was enjoyable again!
Players and Trainers as Team Captains
The participants were divided into eight teams, each of which had their own shirt colour. ‘FC Champions’ was written in large on the shirts, referring to Heracles Almelo’s achieved championship in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Again, this year, Heracles Almelo players and trainers were the team coaches. For instance, Thomas Bruns was in charge of the green team and Michael Brouwer was the shining centre in the grey team.
“When you see how much everyone enjoys it and how happy they are, it gives yourself a lot of satisfaction too. For us it is a small effort and at the same time for them a very big gesture. That’s the most beautiful thing. Small things can mean a lot!”
Michael Brouwer, Goalkeeper
Mister Heracles, club icon and assistant coach René Kolschot was also at the event again:
“This is pure, this is enjoyment! So much fun and joy, this is as it should be.”
