“Scoring for Health” at Randers FC is going well
The club’s CSR project “Scoring for Health” is going well, and they are currently teaching nutrition and health to the municipality’s 6th graders. Their Superliga players and physical trainers talk about nutrition and health at the municipality’s primary schools.
In addition, their talented project staff also teach nutrition and health with a food perspective to the municipality’s 6th graders. For example, Helene, who you can meet in the video below, teaches at Hornbæk School.
“Scoring for Health” is an educational project that offers a nutritional and active life for the municipality’s 6th graders. The project seeks to learn how to prevent a trend of increasing childhood obesity which, as identified by the World Health Organization, is still a critical issue throughout Europe today. With the underlying target of promoting a healthy diet and lifestyle amongst children, their families and wider communities across Europe, the programme supports the 3rd UN Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well-Being.
THE PRINCIPAL GOALS OF THE PROGRAMME ARE:
- To encourage awareness of healthy lifestyles among the children and their parents
- To allow participants to experience that sport and exercise are healthy and enjoyable
- To increase physical activity among children (25% more meets HEPA Guidelines standards)
- To promote healthy dietary behaviours based on the Guidelines for healthy nutrition
- To improve children’s physical fitness
The project is carried out with the support of and in cooperation with the European Football for Development Network, Erasmus+, the Salling Foundations and the Municipality of Randers.
