SaintsAbility – Saints Foundation
SaintsAbility is one of the many Saints Foundation’s programmes aiming to provide regular football sessions for people of all ages with physical and cognitive impairments.
Daytime, evening and weekend community sessions are available at various venues across the county. Thanks to the Premier League and the BT Disability fund, the Saints Foundation can go the extra mile to inspire the next generation and to showcase their ability rather than their disability.
SaintsAbility provide football and multi-sports activities to primary and secondary SEN schools with links for the young people to open access sessions in the evenings and during the weekends. There are also sessions during the day for adults (16+) to enjoy football. At Saints Foundation we believe that everybody should have the opportunity to enjoy football. This is why a pathway has been created to enable participants attending the engaging open access sessions to play more football if they wish.
“All of these opportunities have been so important for Ellie, it’s given her regular hobbies and exercise, she’s made new friends who have similar abilities and impairments, and she’s even received a Blue Peter Badge as a sports ambassador for inspiring others to play. We have benefited hugely as a family as a result of these Saints Foundation sessions, and Ellie can’t wait to carry on progressing with her football.” – Christine Wheatley, Mother of Ellie – SaintsAbility participant
