Saints Foundation – Successful Pan Disability League

Saints Foundation’s Pan Disability League has been a big hit during November’s fixtures, according to the players, parents and coaches who attended.
Teams from across Hampshire get to enjoy the league once a month, and this month the adult teams played on Sunday 5th November, while the U12/U16s teams met on Sunday 19th November.

“It’s really fun because we get to play lots of matches with all my friends, and I enjoy scoring lots of goals.” – AFC Bournemouth Ability Counts Player, aged 9.

The league, sponsored by Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, appeals to a range of abilities, and in a lot of cases without Saints Foundation’s Pan Disability League, many wouldn’t be able to play competitive football at all.

Everybody gets the chance to play

“My son really enjoys it. It enables him to come and play football, and the fact it’s inclusive makes a huge difference, otherwise I don’t think he would be playing football at all.” – Parent of AFC Bournemouth Ability Counts U16’s player.

As always with the Pan Disability League, the emphasis is placed on enjoying football, getting every player involved and challenging individuals to consider others. This helps to contribute a friendly atmosphere, with lots of cheers and smiles on faces.

“The league is great because everybody gets the chance to play, the coaches are excellent at getting everyone involved and ensuring it’s not one-sided. Players get the chance to challenge themselves against players of a similar ability, whilst also learning their own game.” – Phil Rogers, Eastleigh FC Pan Disability Coach.
