Rangers support colourful pride march
Rangers Football Club, Rangers Charity Foundation and Ibrox Pride came together with fans to celebrate MardiGla, a colourful pride march in Glasgow.
Over 7,000 people took part in the colourful pride march, which began in Kelvingrove Park before weaving its way to George Square. Having previously invited supporters from all backgrounds to join, the Rangers Family displayed an inclusive banner, saying ‘we are for everyone and anyone’, and wore specially designed t-shirts.
Standing side by side
Rangers Charity Foundation Director, Connal Cochrane, said: “We’re proud to stand side by side with the Club and Ibrox Pride, to show our support for the LGBT+ community and beyond. The Club and Foundation are proud to be inclusive for everyone and we hope that the Rangers family enjoyed celebrating this with us, at was a special afternoon in Glasgow – thank you all for coming along!”
Rangers Football Club’s Official LGBT+ Supporters Club, Ibrox Pride, Co-Chair, Carole Anderson, added: “Ibrox Pride was delighted to join the Club and Charity Foundation at MardiGla and it was great to see Rangers fans, their friends and families show support for inclusive football.”
Earlier this month, the Rangers launched a ground-breaking campaign, ‘Everyone Anyone’ which aims to unite people from all backgrounds, cultures and communities. In collaboration with the Rangers Charity Foundation, the Rangers FC will work across the club to champion diversity, encourage tolerance and understanding, and promote positive behaviour as part of this ambitious new strategy. In addition to supporting charity partners, the foundation delivers comprehensive community programmes for children and adults focused on training regarding health and fitness, employment, equality, diversity and education.
