PSV and ASML provide 150 kids with special experience
Although PSV faced Benfica for a very important match between EFDN members this week, the club and foundation, in collaboration with chip machine manufacturer ASML, managed to provide dozens of children a special day. Every day throughout the week, a group of about thirty children is allowed to experience a PSV day at the club’s youth academy.
PSV and ASML agreed to give the entire community the opportunity to benefit from the Brainport success. For the chip machine manufacturer, this is very important, as top executive Peter Wennink said last year. PSV also wants to play a connecting role in the Brainport region, and the company and the football club soon found each other to work together towards this goal.
This week, a total of 150 children can feel like a PSV player for a day at the club’s training complex (De Herdgang). They will train, play games and get a guided tour through PSV’s museum. The footballers are 8 to 13 years old and will be picked up by PSV’s official players’ bus from the Eindhoven districts De Bennekel, Doornakkers, Groenewoud, Tongelre and Mensfort. Thirty children per district were selected by a youth worker from the social organisation Dynamo.
