Pro League donates 250 football packages to flood victims
At the end of July, heavy rainfall flooded large parts of the south and east of the country. The Pro League set up an emergency fund, #ProLeagueHelps, to help the flood victims. On Thursday 26 August, the Pro League, together with the ACFF, and in particular with the Comité de la Province de Liège, distributed packs of football equipment to 250 children affected by the floods.
Pierre François, CEO Pro League: “The floods in the province of Liège led to an immediate response from the Pro League. Various clubs and their supporters showed their community spirit and organised collection campaigns for the affected region. Together with its clubs and media partner Eleven Sports, the Pro League set up an emergency fund to which supporters can make a solidarity contribution.”
Today, together with the ACFF, and in particular with the Comité de la Province de Liège, the Pro League is handing out 250 packs of football accessories to children of families who lost everything in the floods. With the packages, the Pro League wants to help the young footballers get back into their favourite sport in a club setting. Besides donating football training kits, the Pro League provided 1,000 meals for the victims in the Ourthe valley (Tilff-Esneux). The initiatives are funded through the emergency fund, #ProLeagueHelps.
“In the coming weeks, the Pro League will help develop further actions to further support the victims. Furthermore, the Pro League would like to thank everyone who has generously contributed to the #ProLeagueHelps emergency fund”, said Pierre François.
