PLAYING FIFA BEHIND BARS – FC ST. PAULI VISIT THE SCHLESWIG JUVENILE INSTITUTION
Our two eFootball players Kamal Kamboj and Luca Leon Hinrichsen were guests at the Schleswig Juvenile Institution. The visit took place within the framework of the Sepp Herberger Foundation’s programme “Kick-off for a new life”, in which FC St. Pauli has been cooperating with the Schleswig Juvenile Institution for years.
The eight young men who welcomed the two eFootball players Kamal Kamboj and Luca Leon Hinrichsen to the Schleswig Juvenile Institution were clearly delighted with their visit.
“The boys have trained properly and are well-prepared.”
Lars Weise, Sports coordinator of the juvenile institution
After a short presentation of the eFootball activities at FC St. Pauli and the two players, they went straight to the consoles. The three hours in which the young prisoners had the opportunity to play against Luca and Kamal and prove their Fifa skills flew by. Of course, while they were playing, a lot of information was exchanged about life as an esport player, but also about the daily routine in the juvenile prison.
The visit took place within the framework of the programme “Anstoß für ein neues Leben” (“Kick-off for a New Life”) initiated by the Sepp Herberger Foundation, in which FC St. Pauli has been cooperating with the Schleswig Juvenile Institution for years.
“In addition to the fun for all involved, our project visits always focus on the contribution to resocialisation. Today, it was mainly the ability to concentrate that was required, but also a portion or two of frustration tolerance.”
Natascha Clasen, Project manager at FC St. Pauli.
The young eFootballers also benefited from the visit
“That was a special experience in an unfamiliar environment. It’s good that our players think outside the box and get involved with people in other life situations.”
Christian Oberlies, Head of Gaming & Esports
