PAOK restore Thessaloniki School for the Blind bus
EFDN member, PAOK FC have yet again demonstrated why their club is #Morethanfootball. Hot on the heels of European clubs showcasing the initiatives that make them #Morethanfootball, the Greek club went beyond just talk by helping within their community.
The club’s foundation, PAOK Action, joined forces with a local company to get KEAT Thessaloniki’s (The School for the Blind) bus back on the road. In the process, over a dozen students with visual impairments will benefit from using the means of transportation.
The bus had been decommissioned for several years due to serious technical problems. Since the Covid-19 pandemic happened, there has been an increased need for its use due to the required public health protection measures.
Several repairs, mechanical and exterior, were carried out to restore the vehicle to full working condition. It is now roadworthy and can ferry passengers safely around the streets of Thessaloniki, helping the students in their everyday movements.
PAOK Action are keeping the #Morethanfootball spirit alive and making the lives of their fans a little better through the social power of football.
