Olympique de Marseille to host hundreds of children in its “Ecole ouverte”
Olympique de Marseille has decided to open the doors of its Campus to hundreds of kids who will not leave the region this summer.
Not only has the health crisis put football on hold, but it has also compromised the 2020 touristic season. This means that many kids who were forced to stay home from school will also skip their vacations this year. However, Olympique de Marseille has come up with a plan to make these kids’ summer better.
Thanks to a partnership with the Aix-Marseille Academy, the Club has launched the “Ecole Ouverte” (Open School) initiative. For the first two weeks of July, hundreds of children will be welcomed to the OM Campus, where, under the supervision of the club’s coaches, they will have the chance to learn all things about football.
“Olympique de Marseille occupies such a prominent position in our city that it must recognise its social responsibility. We’re in full solidarity with the people of Marseille, who have been hit hard by the crisis, and we think that it’s normal to give our children a breathing space, especially when football has stopped. The OM Campus is made to resound with cries of joy. We hope that the children hosted in the “Open Schools” will make it vibrate again. It is important to offer the students the opportunity to live collective experiences, sharing and learning. This is the whole objective of the Open School system that the Aix-Marseille academy has strongly developed for this summer 2020″, saif . said Club president Jacques-Henri Eyraud.
