OL Foundation Fights Against Job Insecurity

During each societal crisis, OL Foundation has always responded by supporting actors in the general interest, in particular during the Covid-19 crisis or more recently in helping child victims of the war in Ukraine. This 2022/2023 season is marked by an energy crisis, high inflation, and the risk of an increase in poverty in France. OL Foundation is once again mobilizing to provide help and support to 3 players in its territory, in consultation with local authorities and associations.

€50,000 allocated to local social assistance associations

A historic partner of the Banque Alimentaire du Rhône, OL Fondation paid additional aid in December 2022 in the form of a donation of €10,000 for food purchases in response to rising prices. Since March 2016, the Banque Alimentaire du Rhône has also organized a collection of sandwiches and other food products after each match organized at Groupama Stadium, i.e. 35 tonnes since March 2016.

Another aspect on which OL Fondation wished commit this winter, the fuel poverty caused by the rise in gas and electricity prices. Thus, the Board of Directors validated a donation of €40,000 to the association Habitat et Humanisme, paid into the emergency fund against fuel poverty created by the association. This sum will be used to finance the electricity and heating expenses of 400 households in a situation of poverty in the metropolis of Lyon during the 3 winter months.

€20,000 for the relocation of victims of the Vaulx-en-Velin fire

Olympique Lyonnais has decided to provide financial assistance of €20,000 for the benefit of the Center Communal d’Action Social of Vaulx-en-Velin, following the fire which took place on the night of December 15 to 16, 2022 in this municipality of the metropolis of Lyon. This donation will be used for accommodation as well as material and social assistance to the families of the victims and victims of 12 chemin des Barques.

€20,000 for Les Parages, supported by the Entreprise des Possibles

Since 2021, Olympique Lyonnais has become a founding member of the Entreprise des Possibles. In this context, the Club has assembled a selection committee, made up of OL Foundation administrators and OL administrative employees, to provide additional support for a specific project. This committee has chosen to support the Les Parages project, which aims to provide temporary accommodation (on average 4 months) for young people undergoing training and access to employment accompanied by the Apprentis d’Auteuil, in waiting to settle in permanent accommodation: this system offers young people a secure environment. It would be completed by a warm and friendly space, a third place open to all young people in which the Apprentis d’Auteuil teams could establish the first contact and provide long-term support; this space will thus offer young people a place of listening and dialogue, it will also promote creativity and collective projects, with a coworking space, in particular for young entrepreneurs accompanied by “l’OuvreBOX”, the incubator for Apprentices from Auteuil.
