NOVIS Project to Engage Partners in Online Planning Workshop
The No Violence in Sport (NOVISPORT) project will organise two webinars on 23 September and 1 October in line with the original concept that planned to carry out several local workshops in partner countries to promote the Sport Chart and pilot programme. Due to the continuing difficulties and restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, Novis opted to avoid face-to-face meetings and instead carry out webinars, during which participants will also have the opportunity to interact directly with our speakers.
It will be an important opportunity to understand what Novis tools are and how to concretely transfer them to one’s own sporting context. The NOVISPORT programme that began in January 2018 and is coordinated by Italian organisation Centro Giovaline di Formazione Sportiva (CGFS) and the Italian Youth Centre for Physical Training. It is also delivered in partnership with 10 organisations from seven different EU member states – Italy, Romania, The Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria and Poland.
The webinars will both last an hour and feature an introduction to the Novis Erasmus+ project and a brief overview of violence in sport and the importance of prevention. There shall also be a presentation of the English version of the methodological guide including aims, contents and future directions. They will conclude with updates on resources, affiliations and upcoming events.
The NOVISPORT programme aims to address challenges such as violence and intolerance linked to sport events and to promote the culture of sport, fair play and teamwork. The overall purpose of the project is to prevent and fight against incidents of violence, racism and any form of intolerance in sports, particularly in youth sport sectors and at amateur level. Within the programme delivery EFDN in particular takes on the responsibility of organising networking activities and the exchange of best practices among the parties involved.
