Northampton Town FC Community Delivers Premier League Primary Stars Programme
Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills. The programme provided by the Community Trust also allows partner schools to receive exclusive player and mascot appearances, free tickets to watch the Cobblers in action and the opportunity to enter local football competitions.
Working in partnership with the Premier League Charitable Fund, Northampton Town FC Community is able to deliver a range of physical activity and classroom based sessions in primary schools across Northamptonshire. The trust aims to contribute to an improvement in the quality and standards of PE delivered within these schools. Northampton Town FC Community’s staff work closely with the schools and existing teaching staff to support them with improving confidence in delivery.
The Club’s Community aims to provide quality PE and PSHE support to children from all backgrounds and all abilities, and a tailored programme to meet specific needs of the school in line of national curriculum requirements. Their staff deliver a range of Multiskills and sport specific clubs, before and after school, with sessions designed to be inclusive and enjoyable to all. Northampton Town FC Community have specially designed sessions to improve the confidence and ability of students in core subjects such as English and Maths, using sport and football in particular, as a vehicle.
Northampton Town FC Community is also proud to deliver the Premier League Reading Stars Programme, (developed by the National Literacy Trust) to engage young children with their reading and writing skills. They also have Cross-Curricular sessions designed around reading, writing and mathematical skills, which give the students the opportunity to bring learning and PE together.
